Diet Review by Jim Kielbaso
Rob Bowman’s program Best Fat Loss for Women is a breath of fresh air in the weight loss market. Rob is an experienced trainer who has been working with weight loss clients for years, and he has boiled a lot of information down into an easy-to-use, yet comprehensive program. The overall theme of the program is to make good food choices, do strength workouts in your own home and take well-planned action steps to stay engaged in the process for long-term weight loss success.
When you purchase Best Fat Loss for Women, you really get a lot for your money. Rob has put together nice materials on nutrition and exercise that are very easy to use and understand. His Fat Burn Accelerator Guide (which is one of my favorite parts of the program) gives some excellent suggestions of losing weight in a healthy way that can be done long-term. This is not a quick-fix program designed to get you into a dress this weekend, which is exactly why I like the program.
Everything Rob teaches is very healthy, simple, and realistic. Since I titled my own program Weight Loss in Reality, I obviously appreciate a realistic approach, and this fits the bill perfectly. The nutritional information is excellent, and there are tons of choices, so you’re not stuck eating the same bland foods every day. He does focus on health (not just weight loss), which is optimal for long-term success.
Rob is not a psychologist, but he gives his own advice of the psychological aspect of weight loss. He has a complete section of the program called Motivate Your Mind and Your Body Will Follow that focuses on how to stay motivated, using the skills he learned through his own struggles with weight loss. It is not a psychological masterpiece by any stretch of the imagination, but he does offer some good suggestions and touches on emotional triggers, so I commend him for including this. Much of this section is geared toward goal setting and creating action plans, which are two very important aspects of weight loss. He also spends time talking about planning ahead in order to made the best choices and takes you through a few nice goal-setting exercises.
One of my favorite aspects of this program is that it includes eight (8) weekly phone coaching sessions to keep you on track during the early part of the program. I really haven’t seen another program that offers this, and I think it is an excellent addition to an already good product. In fact, I think these calls make this a great deal, and boost my rating of this program considerably. I have not personally joined any of the calls, but having someone like Rob spend time answering questions and holding you accountable is absolutely priceless. This alone is worth the price of the program. And, Rob’s British accent will sound very cool on the calls.
The nutritional plan of the program is thorough, but it’s certainly not a nutritional textbook. If you’re looking for detailed information on nutrition, this is not the right program for you. If you like a well thought out meal plan, with options to substitute foods you don’t care for, then you’ll probably like this program. He includes plenty of recipes to make it easy to eat the foods on the menu. Dessert options are even in the plan, so you can rest assured that this program is not trying to completely restrict your lifestyle.
About the only area of nutritional concern is that there are no details on portion sizes. The recipes certainly include this, but you’ll need to control your portions through the program. This is something that can easily be addressed on the phone calls so your program can be somewhat customized for your needs.
The exercise portion of Best Fat Loss for Women is also another winner. When you sign up, you get access to a full 12-month workout program that is completely laid out for you in brief videos. The workouts change each month, and each month has a few different routines to keep things fresh. The best part of the workouts is that they require no equipment and can be done in the privacy of your own home.
I’m not going to tell you that these are incredible workouts, and the videos are not Hollywood quality. This is straight-forward info that you can use immediately. If you’re already an avid exerciser, you’ll probably want to increase the intensity of the workouts considerably. Also, if you prefer to workout at a gym, you may not really like these workouts because they are designed to be done at home.
If, however, you’re not an avid exerciser and would prefer to do this in private, you’re going to love these workouts. They start out very slowly, and gradually progress to higher levels of intensity. Rob also explains how to make the workouts more intense if you feel like progressing faster.
The fact that he has taken the time to shoot a year’s worth of workout videos for you shows you how much energy has gone into this program.
Rob has also included an e-book called The 29 Most Common Exercise Myths that should be mandatory reading for anyone trying to lose weight. There is a ton of great information in this e-book that will help you understand exactly how exercise will help you lose weight and will break down some major mis-information that surrounds the world of weight loss.

Cons
· Workouts are done at home, so this is a con if you like to exercise at a gym
· Workouts could be more intense for experienced exercisers
· Doesn’t go very in-depth on psychological issues
· Meal Plan is somewhat limited and doesn’t include portion sizes or how many calories are in each meal, but there are plenty of suggestions for alternatives
Recommendation
I think Best Fat Loss for Women is an excellent program that offers something different than a lot of other programs. The cost of the program is $97 and that includes the 8 Phone Coaching Calls as well as 12 months worth of exercise videos and all of the other materials in the program. I really think it’s a good deal when you consider everything you’re getting, especially the phone calls. I give Best Fat Loss for Women two thumbs up for any woman looking to lose weight and exercise in the privacy of her own home. Great stuff from Rob Bowman.
