Diet Review: Weight Loss in Reality

Diet Review - Weight Loss in Reality

As a fitness professional, I am constantly asked for weight loss advice.  There is so much garbage and mis-information out there that it’s hard for people to sift through it all and find quality information.  When I came across Weight Loss in Reality, I was very impressed, and it actually changed the way I worked with clients.  If you have been trying to lose weight, but run into roadblocks or keep putting it back on, I highly recommend this program.

The personal exploration assignments and individualized approach offer so much information and education that I now start every weight loss client with this program.  After going through the exercises in the book, the long-term weight loss process goes much smoother because of the solid foundation we have laid.  We often go back and refer to specific portions of the program or assignments to stay on track during difficult times.  In addition to the exercise plan I create, we use it as a road map for weight loss success.

Program Details

Weight Loss in reality isn’t a diet like many other programs I’ve seen.  The way it takes the user through their own journey really gets you to understand how to create your own, individualized plan.  That’s something that is quite unique to this plan – you create your own road map for long-term success.

First, Jim Kielbaso teaches you all about different foods and nutrients in a very humorous way.  Next, you determine your goals and how much you need to eat to get there.  After that, you pick simple meals from the plan that best suits you (and there are hundreds of choices).  Then, the good stuff begins.  You really learn how to incorporate everything into your life.  From planning ahead to handling objections from your family, you learn to realistically make your life work for long-term success.  I haven’t seen anything like this in any other book or program, and it can be very powerful.

Pros

-          Easy to understand writing style – actually pretty funny

-          Realistic approach to implementing lifestyle changes

-          Focuses on a long-term, healthy approach to weight loss

-          Incorporates nutrition/diet with exercise, lifestyle changes and emotional issues

Cons

-          Exercise section focuses on beginner workouts for the most part, so advanced exercisers will probably need more

-          Because of the long-term approach, it’s probably best suited for people with 20 or more pounds to lose

Price

I think that $39 is a very reasonable price for this comprehensive program.  It’s almost like working with a dietitian, a personal trainer and a psychologist for just $39.  Definite bargain.

Recommendation

Whether you are already on a weight loss program, work with a trainer, have tried several other plans or are just trying to maintain your weight, do yourself a favor and get this program.  It is well worth the $39.  You also get 60 days to get a full refund in case you don’t like it, so there’s really no risk here.  It’s a unique, healthy and proven approach to weight loss, and I highly recommend it.
